Roland

collapse expand iconDescription

The Roland CUBE Street EX battery-powered combo amp and PA is ready to amplify your creativity. This 50W stereo amplifier packs punchy, full-range sound into a compact package for performing on the go. Four independent channels accept a variety of inputs from vocal microphones and instruments like guitars, basses, keyboards and drum machines. Eight AA batteries provide up to 20 hours of play time, allowing you to jam for hours on end. An ideal stage monitor or standalone PA, the CUBE Street EX gives you the freedom to play wherever inspiration strikes.

Big Sound, Small Size

Despite its compact, battery-powered design, the CUBE Street EX cranks out 50W of power through a stereo speaker system with dual 8" woofers and 2" tweeters. The result is a clean, robust tone that can fill small- to mid-sized venues. And with two CUBE Street EX units, you can link up for wider coverage at larger gigs. Selectable 25W and 10W modes extend battery life when less power is needed.

COSM Amps and Effects for Guitar

You will appreciate the CUBE Street EX's built-in COSM amp models, which provide instantly inspiring tones at the turn of a knob. Choose from Lead, Crunch and Clean amp types, as well as an Acoustic Simulator to expand your acoustic-electric's range. Essential effects like chorus, delay and reverb can be engaged with optional footswitches, allowing you to switch tones seamlessly during a performance. There's even an onboard tuner for quick tuning on the fly.

Versatile Connectivity for Any Setup

With four channels, the CUBE Street EX handles a variety of inputs for vocals and instruments. Use the XLR mic inputs for dynamic mics, the 1/4" inputs for electric guitars and basses and the stereo mini jack for devices like keyboards, drum machines and tablets or smartphones. Separate three-band EQ and reverb controls for each channel provide detailed tone adjustment, so you can achieve the perfect mix for your unique configuration of mics and instruments.

Best battery powered amp on the market

Forget the title of this review. This is a first-class amplifier. Whether using battery or AC power this amp has a great sound. I am a classical guitarist who use an amp when performing chamber music. I require no feedback and a sound that is as close to an unamplified classical guitar as possible. This amp delivers. I think it has better sound than the Fishman amp at a substantially lower price.

Had High Hopes

I purchased the Cube Street EX because of the number of channels, features(including AC or battery powered), and the 50 watt power output, to replace a two channel Crate 30 watt acoustic amp. Loved that it was lightweight, had separate channel controls, and would run on AA batteries if needed. Extremely disappointed with the sound quality, feedback issues, and the output volume. At a small venue that the 30 watt Crate always handled with ease, the Cube Street EX performed so poorly that I had to revert back to the Crate CA30 I brought for backup. A 50 watt(at high power on AC power) amp should easily be able to handle what a 30 watt amp could. Feedback was horrible, and it was difficult to EQ out the boxy sound it created on mic and instrument channels. Spent 2-3 hours at home trying to make the amp work out, as I really wanted to keep it. Side-by-side with the Crate CA30, the Crate put out more, and better quality, sound at 5 than the EX put out at 8.5 with the same instrument. I am a fan of Roland amps, and was greatly disappointed. I hope that mine was just defective, and not a good example of the product. I expected much better from Roland, especially after reading so many positive reviews. Purchased from GuitarCenter.com, it was backordered, but shipped quickly as soon as they got it in. No-hassle return at my local Guitar Center. That is the reason I purchased from them. I have always received good service and excellent treatment from GC, and do recommend them to friends. None in stock to do an exchange or comparison in-store, so the amp was returned for a refund.

I haven't used my Roland Cube Street EX all that much yet, but after much research, I believe I made the right choice. It's great for home practice, without or with headphones, I have tried it both ways. I used a mic and both, an electric and acoustic-electric guitar and MP3 player 👍

Home rehearsals, use as portable amp/pa. The street cube 10 watt sounds better over all. Bought this one for the extra channels and power. Not bad but is not quite as good as I had hoped for. Having said that, I will keep it and maybe learn some tricks that may improve we my opinion.

What's the difference between this one AND the other Cube Street besides price? I have the cube street that I got for my bday last year but all of a sudden it has stopped working. Batteries have been changed And I changed out the ac adapter too. I just relieved the bag that goes with it as well!!
