Here are 5 Reasons why:

A Great Budget Pick

Jasmine S35 is a guitar that completely redefines the budget segment. No guitar sounds as good and has such a ridiculous price tag. Most people spend a lot of money purchasing an expensive acoustic guitarsince they are afraid of the quality a cheap guitar might produce.

However, with the Jasmine S35:

you get to both save money and make zero compromises to sound quality.

The Jasmine S35 was designed by a Japanese company known as Takamine acoustic guitars but is now sold by KMC Music Company. The guitars made are still similar, and the guitars are factory-made in China. This guitar has a bold, balanced, and rich tone and looks to have taken a thing or two from the Jasmine S34Cregarding the build.

The Intersection Between Price and Quality

If you want to know whether the guitar you purchase will have a poor or rich sound, focus on looking at one feature, a solid wood top. The problem is, you won’t find this feature on guitars at the price at which the Jasmine S35 goes for unless it’s a rip-off. Other than the solid wood top, this guitar has another feature rarely found on guitars at its level, advanced X bracing.

X bracing is what turns the sound quality of your guitar from good to fantastic. The arrangement of the braces in an X pattern near the sound hole means Jasmine S35 produces a sound which is more open. Also, it enhances the notes detail and reduces the guitar’s weight. Lastly, it gives you a better sound as compared to the non-braced guitar by allowing the top to vibrate a little more freely.

The Jasmine S35 has an astoundingly bold sound that shocked many skeptics upon its release. Generally, a guitar going for that price was expected to be horrible, but even professionals use it lately every once in a while. It’s light in your hands and has a slim neck so playing the Jasmine S35 is relatively easy. However, sometimes it can be hard to keep it in tune.

Well-balanced Highs and Lows

The Jasmine S35 has a smooth, warm tone comprising of well-balanced highs and lows. Some people have reported having experienced fret buzzing just over the 12th fret while others claim the action is a wee bit high out of the box. Nonetheless, both issues can be easily solved with a guitar setup to have your instrument functioning again with ease.

While guitars strings are a personal preference type of topic, some people opt for medium-light strings as opposed to the Jasmine S35’s light strings. Not to worry, you can replace the guitar’s strings to give the Jasmine S35 an enhanced sound. Still, this guitar doesn’t sound cheap for an entry level category. It’s true that cheap laminate gives a guitar low-quality sound.

However, a natural satin finish can correct that mistake just like it does with this guitar to give you high-quality sound. Not to mention, it adds to the guitar’s overall apparent giving it a smooth look to add to the maximized resonance. The satin finish is also responsible for optimized sound quality giving the Jasmine S35 both a comfortable feel and killer quality.

The Build Quality

Most cheap acoustic guitars made in a factory assembly line often have flaws in their construction. In most instances, the problem is usually the build. As such, be sure to inspect your Jasmine S35 once it is delivered to ensure that its construction is flawless with zero mistakes in its assembly. This guitar’s price is significantly reduced thanks to the synthetic bone nut and saddle.

The saddle might be placed a little too high for some people, but again, that issue can be quickly and easily resolved by a quick visit to a guitar shop. We recommend a tune-up after purchasing your guitar to ensure that it is functioning at an optimum level. Still, technology has made it easier for people to do many things that would otherwise require you to dive deeper into your pocket.

Versatility

The internet is awash with how-to videos, and if you are technically inclined, you can learn totune your guitar via a YouTube tutorial. Nonetheless, the Jasmine S35 is playable straight out of the box. In addition to its rich and balanced tone, this guitar also has a surprising volume. You expect entry level guitars not to be as loud, but the Jasmine S35 can give an astounding loud sound.

However, it is not the magical type of sound quality that you will enjoy from the guitar even after hitting the intermediate or professional levels. The Jasmine S35 is decent enough to pass for a budget-friendly acoustic guitar for a beginner, but you might soon outgrow it after gaining more playing experience. Nonetheless, it has necessary features to make it one of the best in its category not to mention one of the cheapest as well.

The Jasmine S35 can also be played by children thanks to its slim neck. It is the ideal instrument to carry on the road or as a backup option in case you don’t need to use your first choice pro guitar.

  1. I bought my S35 at a Mom and Pop store as a replacement for an old Eppi that I have. Bridge was comming loose. (I have since tuned the Eppi in open’E’, left the action high and use it for slide). The S35 was hanging in the used section of the store. Played several higher end used guitars but the open pore design caught my eye. Picked it up and it just felt right, sounded and looked good. Didn’t need any setup although I may lower the saddle just a little. Plays so well that I may just leave it alone I thought that it was a well cared for used guitar. It was in tune on the rack and stays in tune now whether its propped up in the corner or in my gig bag. I put a set of Martin lights on it, but I think that I will go back to the OE strings. Y’all hit a home run with this one. No complaints.

    • Hi Mike. I have one of these guitars, but need to buy a gig bag for it. Which giig bag do you have? I don’t want to buy one that doesn’t fit the guitar. 🙂

      Thanks,
      Peter
