The Yamaha Gigmaker EG Package

Yamaha is historically known for its great musical instruments. And, Gigmaker inherits the quality craftsmanship, brilliant sound and durable hardware of Yamaha guitars.

Now, get ready to be amazed by this entry-level instrument that gives you more than you pay for.

It’s packed with everything needed for every level of musician. Sit back and learn more about this guitar.

Great Build and Stunning Looks

Honestly, Gigmaker is made with less expensive wood – Agathis wood body and sunburst paint finish.

However, it doesn’t look cheap and it’s still very charming. I can’t say anything about the body as it’s flawless.

Speaking of the bolt-on maple neck, it’s perfect – feels good and fits the hand perfectly. Its fingerboard is made out of Sonokeling rosewood. The 22 frets are very smooth and have the classic white dot inlays.

The strings are closer to the fretboard for easier bends and experimentation. Some may opt to replace the strings with durable ones. But, for beginners, they’re perfectly fine.

Reliable Hardware

The hardware is simple but very effective. It comes with three pickups which allow you to play almost any style of music with ease.

It comes with a humbucker at the bridge and two single-coil pickups in the neck and middle position. These are controlled by the five-way pickup selector switch.

The tremolo bridge and the whammy bar give you vibrato effects of your music.

Although the humbucker sometimes loosens, a quick adjustment will save the day. Overall, most features are set up nicely and securely to ensure great playability while using the guitar.

Knobs Very Easy to Adjust

There are two knobs for master volume and master tone, which are very easy to adjust. The tuners are great it holding tones.

Knobs and controls are smooth and seem to be installed properly on the body of the guitar.

In addition, the intonation is good and only requires minor adjustments to produce great music.

The pickups and the tone knobs, in general, are very easy to manipulate to create a wide variety of tones. The action is low and superb and beginners wouldn’t find it hard to make a good sound.

Excellent Playability and Versatility

This classic Strat-inspired guitar is surely a head-turner. It’s not because of its stunning looks, but because of its rich and perfect sound. It plays like an expensive Fender.

They say different body woods produce different tones. And, the more expensive the material is, the better is the sound of the guitar produced.

However, this doesn’t seem to be evident in Gigmaker.

The pickup combination makes this guitar flexible and plays a wide variety of versatile tonal sounds.

Excellent playability, and literally, the sky is the limit. You can play rock music in the 80s as well as metal, and whatever music you badly want to play with this guitar.

Cheaper, but Not Cheap

Although it’s cheaply priced, Yamaha is very successful in preserving its quality. Not only in the design, but the sound it produced, as well. It’s a wise investment, especially for beginners who buy a guitar for the first time.

Nothing beats cheap price with great quality combined. Everything is also set up right out of a box, so, you can just play with just minor adjustments.

The One – Plays All Kinds of Music

It’s definitely that one! It’s versatile, durable and it’s Yamaha. Never discount the fact that it has Japan quality.

It plays like almost any genre – from jazz, blues to heavy metal. You might want to try and explore the features of this great guitar before buying it.

Just to reiterate, as it’s worth the mention, it’s a great value for money. It’s a total package, not only for beginners, but for aspiring musicians and professionals, in general.

Pros

  • Feel sturdy and solid
  • Nice rich sound
  • Great value for money
  • Versatile

Cons

  • Replace strings for better performance
  • A little heavy
  • Sometimes the 5-way switch cuts out onto the bridge

Drawbacks

There is no reason why I won’t like the brand. However, why bother buying this entry-level guitar, when you can save for a few dollars to get their top-end guitars?

Even if you are a beginner, this is already good. But if you’re really looking into investing in a good guitar, consider their top of the line guitars, such as this Yamaha Pacifica PAC611HFM.

Look for Yamaha guitars that can last a lifetime. And, if you want a better, and lasting guitar, check out their expensive lines.
